Garden and paradise
This project takes place on a huge plot of land in Qatar's Shahaniya District. The proposal is based on the double definition of the word ‘Rawdha’: garden and paradise.
Thus, the architectural concept proposes organic elements with sinuous morphology integrating nature and environment. The combination of shadows, water and natural and warm materials creates a wide range of calm and relaxing environments. Spaces in harmony with an environment that crosses both a horse trail and a water channel, and which is surrounded by masses of fruit trees.
The architectural proposal is sensitive to the site and its surroundings. The main idea is to provide the maximum level of flexibility by dividing and segregating the main spaces required into small volumes. These small volumes offer the possibility to elaborate infinite layout solutions. Separating these elements generates a constant connection between inside and outside, integrating nature into the living spaces.
There is a hierarchy of connections between spaces, understanding three ways of approaching architectural space: interior zone, exterior zone and transition spaces. In these transitional spaces the boundaries are blurred and generate hybrid responses on the site, creating interferences with the landscape. Once again, the landscape is a fundamental part of the project.
In short, the Farm Villa project is based on the Rawdha concept from start to finish, offering a solution between garden and paradise. Or rather: with the best of each.
