Sants Barcelona

A dual-fronted building

When it comes to indicating the location of the multi-family building associated with this project, we could do this in two ways. On one side the building faces Carrer Sants, with a ground, mezzanine and four additional floors, and on the other side it faces Carrer Tirso de Molina, with a ground, mezzanine and first floor.

The central part of the island courtyard between the two building volumes is to be built only at ground floor level. The underground floors are to be used mainly for parking, although the first level of the section on Carrer Sants will form part of the premises, and these will also have a ground, mezzanine and first floor in the building. These premises will house a Duet Fit chain gymnasium, while the three remaining floors on Carrer Sants will contain three flats each.

The main façade will be finished with black clinker brickwork. It will have openings formed by overhanging balconies and will be covered on all four sides with metal sheeting and protected by a glass railing.

The entrance hall on the ground floor will be closed off with slats, leaving the entrance door integrated with these and glazed joinery installed on the inside.

The same system that has been applied to the entrance area of the sports premises, combined with aluminium joinery and glazing to showcase the premises.

This will lead to the façade being integrated into the aesthetics of the neighbouring buildings and will make the most of lighting.

A lively, dual-fronted building in one of the most dynamic neighbourhoods in the city of Barcelona.
