Interiorismo Gargallo Barcelona
Two Proposals, One Vision: Reinterpreting the Past from the Present
As part of a design competition for two iconic spaces in Barcelona —a seaside hotel and corporate offices within a historic building— ABAA Architecture developed two interior design proposals centred on the recovery of architectural heritage. Although differing in their requirements, both projects share a common sensitivity: using memory as a vehicle for identity, emotion, and contemporary functionality.
Luxury Hospitality: Belle Époque Elegance
For the hotel, the intervention draws inspiration from the vibrant Belle Époque aesthetic, evoking scenes of timeless elegance through stylised arches and deep velvets. The spatial journey is conceived as a sensory experience, where a terracotta and Mediterranean blue palette, combined with noble materials such as natural stone, polished wood, and aged brass, invites guests to immerse themselves in nostalgia and comfort.
Modern Workspaces: Tradition and Modernity
In the offices, the proposal addresses the demands of a modern working environment without compromising the building's historic character. We restored original features, including joinery, mouldings, and ironmongery, integrating them into a new functional layout that provides identity and exclusivity. The choice of elegant natural tones and lighting that balances technical and decorative needs creates a versatile, timeless atmosphere.
Both interventions in Barcelona share a perspective that goes beyond aesthetics: they aim to create deep connections between the user and the city's architectural legacy, merging functionality and emotion.
