Qatar is many things and one of them, and a fundamental part, is the desert. The desert has in fact had its effect throughout the evolution of this proposal.

The project is based on the premise of respect for the context and for this reason all the details of the route to reach the plot, the transition from the exterior to the interior, the colours of the proposal, the textures, the control of light and the winds are studied. The desert as a premise.

The main idea follows an exterior-interior transition scheme. From the desert environment, one crosses a landscape with low-maintenance desert vegetation to reach a more leafy interior courtyard, an oasis. From here, each of the four major parts of the programme can be accessed, all surrounded by a double-height perimeter garden on the upper floors.

In addition, a system of louvres is implemented for solar control, which contributes to creating a more private workspace. The slats incorporate a variable orientation system by rotating each one of them around a central axis. In this way, a dialogue with the environment is achieved and at the same time, one of the fundamental objectives of the proposal: a new emblematic administrative space with great comfort. The innovative environmental control of the proposal makes the project more sustainable.
The final result is a harmonious and forceful proposal, whose relationship with the desert is undoubtedly reciprocal.
